What God Is Actually Doing When He Feels Late (John 11)

Why does God feel late — and what is He actually doing in the delay? In John 11, Jesus heard His friend Lazarus was dying… and stayed two more days on purpose. You know the sentence, even if you've never said it out loud: "If You had been here, this wouldn't have happened." It's the exact thing two grieving women said to Jesus' face while they buried their brother — and He let them say it. This is for the believer worn out by God's timing: the prayer answered too late, the help that arrived after the thing you were praying for was already gone. In John 11, Jesus deliberately waits — Lazarus dies, four days in the tomb, past the point of no return — because He refused to give them a smaller miracle than the one He had planned. God's delay is almost never God's absence. It's usually the doorway to something an earlier arrival would have made impossible. We look at what the waiting actually does to you, why a delay is harder than a flat "no," the moment Jesus wept (and was furious at death itself), and three honest things to do while the stone is still in front of you. And the honest word most videos skip: not every delay ends the way Lazarus's did. Some tombs stay closed on this side of heaven. But the empty tomb of Jesus means the last word over everything you're waiting on is not "loss." It's "come forth." ⏱️ CHAPTERS 00:00 - The Pain That Isn't the Bad News — It's the Timing 00:59 - Why a Delay Is Harder Than a "No" 01:53 - Jesus Waited Two Days on Purpose (John 11) 03:29 - "Lord, If You Had Been Here" — and Jesus Wept 04:45 - Why the Waiting Wears You Down 05:47 - Why Four Days?
