He Set Bread Before Them
Most of us know how the story in 2 Kings 6 ends. Or we think we do.
An army surrounds the little town of Dothan in the night. At dawn a young servant steps outside, sees it, and panics. Elisha prays one line — "LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see" — and the hills around them are full of horses and chariots of fire.
That's usually where the sermon stops.
The chapter doesn't. And what happens in the next six verses is what I haven't been able to put down this week.
