Terms of Service

Effective: June 13, 2026Last updated: June 13, 2026Version: 1.0.0

Effective date: 13 June 2026 Last updated: 13 June 2026 Version: 1.0.0

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of faithisfire.com and the newsletter The Fire Circle, both operated by Norman Bermúdez and Rosselyn Ramírez (together, "we", "us"), individuals resident in Italy. By using the site or subscribing to the newsletter, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

These Terms are written in plain language. They do not contain "clausole vessatorie" (unfair clauses) under Articles 33–37 of the Italian Consumer Code (d.lgs. 206/2005), and nothing in them limits the mandatory consumer rights you have under Italian or EU law.

1. Who we are

Faith Is Fire is a Christian ministry. We publish written and video content about Scripture, prayer, and Christian discipleship. We are private individuals, not a registered company or non-profit. The site and newsletter are offered free of charge.

Contact: fire@faithisfire.com.

2. What the site offers

  • Free reading: articles, devotionals, and other written content on the site (including the blog "The Fire Circle").
  • Free newsletter: weekly letters sent by email after you confirm your subscription via the double opt-in flow described in the Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube embeds: videos hosted on YouTube and embedded for convenience. We are not responsible for YouTube's service.

We do not currently charge for any service on the site. If we add a paid service in the future, separate terms (and consumer-protection rights, including the 14-day right of withdrawal under Article 52 of the Italian Consumer Code where applicable) will apply.

3. Who can use the site

You may use the site if you are at least 14 years old — the digital-consent age set by Italy in Article 2-quinquies of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (introduced by Legislative Decree 101/2018), exercising the option Article 8(1) GDPR grants Member States to derogate from the default age of 16. If you are under 14, you should ask a parent or guardian before subscribing to the newsletter or contacting us.

4. Acceptable use

You may read, share, quote, and link to our content for personal, educational, or church use. When sharing or quoting, please:

  • Attribute the source ("Norman Bermúdez & Rosselyn Ramírez — Faith Is Fire") and link back to the original page where reasonable;
  • Do not present excerpts as your own writing;
  • Do not modify excerpts in a way that changes their theological meaning.

You must not:

  • Use the site or its content in a way that violates Italian or EU law;
  • Scrape the site at a rate that overloads our servers, or use automated systems to extract content for resale;
  • Republish whole articles on another site or platform without our written permission (a short excerpt with attribution and a link is fine);
  • Use the newsletter to harass other subscribers (we do not share subscriber lists; this is hypothetical, but is included for clarity).

5. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise indicated, all written content, images, videos, and design on the site are © Norman Bermúdez & Rosselyn Ramírez and are protected by Italian and international copyright law.

  • You may: read it, share short excerpts with attribution, link to it, quote it in sermons or small-group studies, print it for personal study.
  • You may not: republish full articles on other websites, sell our content, train commercial AI/ML models on the corpus, or remove attribution.

Scripture quotations are from the NIV (New International Version, English) and the RVR60 (Reina-Valera 1960, Spanish). Copyright in those translations belongs to their respective publishers; we use them under the fair-use / quotation exceptions applicable in Italy and the EU and under permitted-use limits.

Material from Verse by Verse Ministry by Stephen Armstrong, used as research foundation for some Bible-study content, remains the property of Verse by Verse Ministry. We do not republish that material directly.

6. The content is religious, not professional advice

Faith Is Fire is a Christian ministry. Our content is religious teaching and pastoral encouragement. It is not:

  • Legal advice;
  • Medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice;
  • Financial, tax, or investment advice;
  • A substitute for the local Church, ordained pastoral care, or a licensed professional.

If you are in crisis or need professional help, please contact your local emergency services, a licensed clinician, or your pastor.

7. Newsletter terms

By subscribing to The Fire Circle you agree to receive weekly emails on the topics described on the subscription page. The legal basis for the newsletter is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email; that one click is enough. Details on data handling are in the Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party services we rely on

The site depends on third-party providers (Vercel, Supabase, Resend, GitHub Actions, YouTube). Each has its own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or data-handling at those providers beyond what is required of us as their customer. The Privacy Policy lists which providers process which categories of your data.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

We do our best to keep the site accurate, up-to-date, and available. However:

  • The site and the content are provided "as is" and "as available";
  • We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security risk;
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential damages (e.g., lost profits, lost data) arising from your use of the site.

These limits do not apply to:

  • Liability for death, personal injury, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, which under Article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code cannot be excluded;
  • Mandatory consumer rights under Italian or EU law, which always prevail over these Terms.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence, as guaranteed by Article 18 of Regulation (EU) 1215/2012 (Brussels I bis) and Article 66 of the Italian Consumer Code. Nothing in these Terms removes that right.

If you are not a consumer, the courts of the place of residence of the controllers (Italy) shall have jurisdiction.

11. Alternative dispute resolution

If you are a consumer and a dispute arises from these Terms, in addition to your right to bring proceedings in court (Section 10), you may use the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) bodies registered in Italy under Article 141 of the Italian Consumer Code (d.lgs. 206/2005), or contact the European Consumer Centre Italy (ECC-Net Italy, https://www.ecc-netitalia.it) for cross-border assistance. The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform (Regulation (EU) 524/2013) was decommissioned on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available. We will engage in good faith with any complaint that reaches us through these channels.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. The Effective date, Last updated, and Version at the top will change. For changes that materially affect your rights, we will notify active newsletter subscribers by email at least 15 days before the change takes effect. You can unsubscribe before the change if you do not accept it.

Older versions of these Terms are kept in the public repository of this site at docs/legal/ so you can compare.
