The Verse for the Morning You Can't Stop Carrying the Outcome (Proverbs 16:3)

Some mornings the day's barely started and it's already on you — not the to-do list itself, but the weight of it. Will it work. Will it be enough. What if you do everything you can and it still goes wrong. It's not the doing that's crushing you. It's the outcome — the part you can't control and can't seem to put down either. Proverbs 16:3 was written for exactly that morning: "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established." Here's what most of us miss — that word "commit" is a picture word. In the original it means to ROLL: to take something too heavy and roll it off your back onto Someone stronger. You still do the work — you keep making the calls, keeping the promises, showing up. What you roll off is the one part that was never yours: how it all turns out. And the promise on the other side isn't that the world settles — it's that YOUR thoughts do. This is an EMBER — a short from Faith Is Fire. If the podcast is the bonfire, these are the embers: small, warm, portable wisdom to reignite your day. One Proverb to start your morning. 🔥 A gentle, honest word — no toxic positivity, no prosperity gospel. Rolling it off isn't "let go and let God" as an excuse to skip your part; you still do the work, fully. And if the weight is the kind that steals your sleep every day — real anxiety — then rolling it onto God and getting real help are not opposites. Do both. ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 The weight of how it all turns out 0:59 The verse — Proverbs 16:3 1:24 "Commit" means roll 2:12 Do the work — roll the results 3:15 When it's more than a heavy morning 4:05 Come unto me — the One who carries it 4:41 Today's dose — one sentence 5:32 Breathe — do the work, roll the results 📖 Scripture: Proverbs 16:3 (KJV) · echoes: Psalm 37:5, 1 Peter 5:7, Matthew 11:28 ▶️ MORE EMBERS 🌅 Start the series here → Ep. 1: A Merry Heart Is Medicine (Proverbs 17:22): https://youtu.be/BgHDDsrAcqg Ep. 7 — The safest place there is (Proverbs 18:10) https://youtu.be/wh109oE0sJU Full Embers playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaXBtnqL3TC0 🎧 The Faith Is Fire podcast (the bonfire): https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdEH2GmdEHCtrCRpe0ywQBMvMooeACitY 💬 Tell me in the comments: what's the outcome you can't stop carrying this morning? 👇 #proverbs #FaithIsFire #CommitYourWorks
